New Movies...

New movies on Eunice's satellite, one in particular is "The U.S. Vs. John Lennon"

We're watching a bit of it, and we get talking about Lennon and him being a former Beetle.  Also mentioned is the fact that he was married to Yoko Ono.

She wasn't having any of that.  TOTALLY flipped out.  why you ask? ...

MY MIND:  Yoko Ono is ...
... the wife of the late John Lennon, artist, visionary.

HER MIND:  Yoko Ono is ...
...YOKOZUNA,  the 6'6" 589 pound former WWF heavyweight champion.

HAHHAHA...i'd freak out too if i though the guy was married to the Beetle great.  We both had a good laugh.

bed time.

God Bless.

ps - i love my Eunice because she makes me laugh - not at her, but with her.

Almost done...

To all those who, like me, are in the midst of studying and completing course work, hang in there.

(a friend of mine hooked me up with Mitch Albom's latest...heard a lot of mixed feelings about it but so far so good)

God bless.

Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life's Greatest Lesson
By Mitch Albom

What really counts...

Some quotes from Morrie Schwartz that highlight my current frames of thought...

"The culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. And you have to be strong enough to say  if the culture doesn't work, don't buy it."

"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important.  This is because they're chasing the wrong things.  The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that give you a propose and meaning."

"Status will get you nowhere"

"The problem, Mitch, if that we don't believe we are as much alike as we are.  Whites and blacks, Catholics and Protestants, men and women. If we saw each other as more alike, we might be very eager to join in one bit human family in this world, and to care about that family the way we care about our own"

Sometimes I do things that are just plain unintelligent.  I sacrifice my time and money for someone else who may or may not even deserve it.  Why do i do it?  It's not about status, image, or reputation, that i can promise.

I do it because I want to make their day.

Want to make someones day?  Do something for them that nobody else would do.

It's worth the trouble i get myself into afterwards.

God Bless.

ps - i love my Eunice
